About Dr. Ting

Dr. Ting is a board-certified dermatologist, a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD) and a Member of American Society for Dermatology Surgery (ASDS). As the director of the Ultherapy Center of Excellence as well as the SonixLipo Body Liposculpturing Program at San Ramon CA, he combines the art and science of Dermatology and Aesthetic Medicine with technical knowhow acquired via his training at UC Berkeley Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences.

He is a graduate of Northwestern University Medical School as well as Kellogg School of Management where he was endowed combined M.D./M.B.A. degrees.

He has been a prolific contributor to the field of dermatology and aesthetic medicine, particularly in the area of Fractional CO2 Laser resurfacing and preventive dermatology. He has won several dermatology research awards and often quoted in media including BusinessWeek, Cosmopolitan, Elle, Contra Costa Times etc. Even in private practice, he has continued to publish in peer-reviewed dermatology journals and speak at numerous academic, local, national and international forums.

Dr. William Ting just published the first peer-reviewed article that demonstrated improvement in wrinkles and sun damage from just 4 weeks of topical tretinoin application (published in July 2010 issue of Cutis).

A seminal peer-reviewed article authored by Dr. William Ting confirmed an increase in risk of malignant melanoma among tanning bed users, particularly among young white female (published in December 2007 issue of the International Journal of Dermatology).

Dr. Ting published a peer-reviewed article that revealed that the differences in perceived importance and personal use of sun protection among primary care physicians are reflected in their clinical practice (published in February 2008 issue of the International Journal of Dermatology).
